Surrendering an Animal
Surrendering a beloved pet is never an easy decision.
At Friends of the Animals, we understand how emotional this process can be, and we do our best to make it as smooth and stress-free as possible.
Because our space and resources are limited, we may not always be able to accept an animal immediately. Even when we cannot take a pet right away, we are still here to help. We can assist by contacting our rescue partners or sharing your pet’s information to help generate interest in rehoming.
Surrender Fees & Care Costs
To help offset the cost of medical care, food, vaccinations, and daily housing, we request a surrender fee of $150 for dogs and $75 for cats. These fees help ensure we can continue providing proper care to the animals already in our shelter and those we take in. If this fee presents a hardship, please let us know — we encourage open communication and will discuss options with you.
